Andei a limpar o pó à meia-dúzia de máquinas antigas que fui juntando ao longo dos últimos anos. Encontrei este folheto dentro da caixa carcomida de uma Kodak Baby Brownie em baquelite preta.
Não resisto a transcrever uma parte das explicações técnicas sobre o funcionamento deste "bebé" da Kodak. Mostra-nos a enorme distância a que já estamos deste mundo...

“Instantaneous snapshots
You can take snapshots in bright sun, or when the sun is obscure by light cloud, during the hours between two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset.
Firs lift up the front frame of the viewfinder and set both frames upright. Hold and aim the camera as shown in the illustrations. Keep your hand well away from the lens.
Hold the camera level and perfectly still when photographing. Push the Shutter Lever slowly and evenly to the left until you hear a click - this indicates that the exposure has been made. When the shutter is released, another click will be heard - this is the shutter returning to the set position and not another exposure being made. Do not jerk he shutter lever, otherwise the picture will be blurred. It is always safer to take snapshots with the sun behind you or slightly to one side - if you expose with the sun in front of you it may shine into the lens and spoil the picture.
To photograph a moving subject, choose a viewpoint where any movement is toward or away from the camera - never across it.”
